No-Fly Cruises from Southampton in 2027: Lines, Routes and When Prices Are Cheapest

If Southampton isn't handy, Ambassador Cruise Line sails no-fly from seven other UK ports: London Tilbury, Newcastle, Dundee, Liverpool, Belfast, Bristol Royal Portbury and Portsmouth.

The pattern is clear: short breaks and winter or shoulder-season dates start lowest, and summer fjords sailings on the newest ships cost the most. In the table above, a balcony on MSC and Royal Caribbean costs £0–£160 more than an ocean view.

School-holiday sailings usually cost more.

May and June, plus November and early December, are good hunting grounds for lower fares. P&O's spring 2027 fjords sailings show this: several April and May departures are listed from £611, while mid-July sailings on the same route start at £776.

From December into February, almost every line competes for bookings. Offers often include drinks, speciality dining or reduced deposits.

Several UK agents were already running October flash sales on 2027 Southampton sailings when we checked. Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals usually follow in late November.

Early bookers get the best choice of cabins and any launch offers. For example, Fred. Olsen's Freedom Fare Price Promise gave anyone who booked in a cruise's first four weeks an upgrade or onboard credit if the price later fell. If you're flexible, last-minute deals also appear, often around 90 days before departure, when final balances fall due.

Newer ships usually cost more. One-way repositioning crossings, like the autumn transatlantics, can be much cheaper per night.

An inside cabin is the cheapest way onto any ship. With a "guarantee" cabin, the line chooses your cabin, which can cost less and sometimes ends up as a better grade.

Two fares that look the same can end up very different. P&O, MSC (UK bookings), Fred. Olsen, Silversea and Regent include gratuities. Cunard, Princess, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and NCL add a daily service charge in US dollars, typically US$18–US$20 per person per night in a standard cabin. These are charged in US dollars even on UK bookings (Cunard and NCL quote them in dollars on their UK websites). Add in drinks, Wi-Fi and parking before you decide which deal is really cheapest.

A short break. In 2027, MSC Meraviglia's 3-night mini-cruise was listed from £409 for an interior cabin (checked 30 Oct 2026). Royal Caribbean's 2-night Freedom of the Seas getaway on 23 Jul 2027 started at £429, and a 7-night Cunard Queen Anne voyage on 3 Jan 2027 was only £469.

Yes, for any sailing that calls at foreign ports. For round-trip cruises that start and end in the UK, the EU's new Entry/Exit System checks shouldn't apply at port calls.
