Cookie Policy

Last updated: 25 October 2026
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies (such as your browser’s local storage) that Ahoy Fares uses, and how you can control them. It follows the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the UK GDPR.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small files a website saves on your device. Local storage and app storage work in a similar way. We call all of these “cookies” in this policy. Some are strictly necessary for a service you ask for; others are optional and we only use them if you agree.

2. Your choices

When you first visit, we ask whether you accept optional cookies. Optional cookies stay off until you choose to turn them on, and rejecting them is as easy as accepting. You can change your mind at any time here, or via “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.

3. Strictly necessary (always on)

4. Affiliate cookies (optional, off unless you accept)

Ahoy Fares is free to use because sellers may pay us a commission when you book through our “View deal” links. Once our affiliate programme is live, and only if you accept affiliate cookies, clicking “View deal” takes you via Awin, an affiliate network, which sets its own cookies to record that you came from Ahoy Fares. If you book within the seller’s cookie period (typically 30 to 90 days), we may receive a commission. It never changes the price you pay.
Awin tracking cookies
Set by
Awin (third party), and the seller’s site
Purpose
Links a booking to the Ahoy Fares click so commission can be paid
Duration
Usually 30 to 90 days, depending on the seller’s programme
If you don’t accept, “View deal” takes you straight to the seller with no Awin tracking. The seller’s own site may still ask you about its own cookies.

5. Newsletter sign-up form and analytics (optional, off unless you accept)

Our newsletter sign-up form is provided by Kit (Kit, Inc., formerly ConvertKit), our email service provider in the United States. The form is loaded from Kit’s servers, and as soon as it loads, before you type anything, Kit’s code stores the items below and tells Kit the form has been viewed (sending the page address, the page you came from and the device ID below). That isn’t needed just to show you our site, so we only load the form if you turn on “Sign-up form and analytics” in your cookie settings. If you don’t, you can still sign up on Kit’s own sign-up page, which we link to instead; Kit’s cookie and privacy policies apply there.

We checked what the form sets on 25 October 2026 by loading it without filling it in. Kit may set more once you sign up, and may change its code; we will update this list if we find changes. We don’t use any other analytics. If we add analytics in future, we will list them here and they will stay off unless you agree.

6. Other websites

When you leave Ahoy Fares for a seller’s website, that site’s own cookie and privacy policies apply. We don’t control the cookies other sites use.

7. Controlling cookies in your browser

You can also block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings. If you clear site data, your saved deals and cookie choices will be removed. Find out more at ico.org.uk.

Ahoy Fares is an independent cruise deals guide covering the whole UK market. Independent means we're not a travel agent, and no cruise line or agent owns us. Some links may be affiliate links: if you book through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Commission doesn't decide which deals we show; our own rules do (the whole market, cheapest cabin first). Prices are per person in GBP based on two sharing.
